LAWECO Maschinen- und Apparatebau GmbH, located in Espelkamp – Germany,  has developed a new loader generation, the CARGO MASTER GREEN LINE, which makes the cargo handling at airports more environmental friendly. With the GREEN LINE, LAWECO impressively shows how economical and ecological aspects are complementary useful - and supports sustainable airports in the reduction of CO2 emissions.

Climate and environmental protection at airports have an increasingly important role, even in the cargo handling. LAWECO, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of high quality lifting systems, is setting new standards in technology, reliability and efficiency with the innovative CARGO MASTER GREEN LINE. The use of the GREEN LINE pays off in several ways: The operating costs can be reduced dramatically by decreasing the energy consumption and maintenance costs. At the same time, the job situation improves considerably on the apron due to significantly lower noise emissions and lack of soot particles. With the electric-loaders airports can fulfill the commitment to the environment and the quality management can be strengthened and expanded.
On the Inter Airport 2011, the most important International Exhibition for Airport Equipment, LAWECO presented the MASTER CARGO LOADER 7-3.7 SW to the public. The enthusiastic reactions show that the GREEN LINE reached the "Goal" for the sustainable concept of an electrically driven container and pallet loaders; there was unanimous praise from visitors.
Mid-October 2011 began a test run in "real-service". The loader surpassed all expectations on a daily basis and is now being used on one of the largest German airports in continuous operation. The loader handles per day 6 to 8 aircrafts of various types - from Airbus A340s to Boeing B777 and even A380.
According to the maxim "less is more" the LAWECO designers have deliberately wear-prone components. The core components of servo hydraulics, electronics and vehicle control are coordinated so that all functions are performed powerful and reliable. At the same time the energy efficiency and speed was improved. The battery state of charge is extended by recovering kinetic energy, which is converted into heat in diesel powered loaders. LAWECO relies on the efficient CAN control systems: the reduction of electric and electronic components as used in relay controls results in reduction of about 3,000 electrical connections to about 300 ! The sophisticated control system asks only the actually needed power. The intelligent interaction between the power system, hydraulics, mechanics and CAN results in optimized energy consumption, the system detects the actual demand - regardless of the weight of the container or pallet.
Another advantage is the optimization of all movements. The CARGO MASTER loaders have only components in use, which allow soft and gentle movements. This not only facilitates handling, but also improves the working conditions for the employees. An additional aspect is the significant extension of the lifetime of the individual components by up to 25 percent and the lifetime of the entire machine. Drastically reduced maintenance costs and less downtime for engine maintenance are additional benefits of the GREEN LINE.

The battery-powered vehicle is designed for air cargo containers and pallets up to 7 tons and a clearance height of 3700 mm "lower deck" - with the universal loader CML 7 – 5.6 SU are even 5800 mm possible.
